Located on a beach near Oaxaca, Mexico, Casa Zicatela is a spectacular concrete monolithic structure. Beyond it's harsh concrete exterior, Casa Zicatela's interior contains an intricate network of stone staircases and large open-spaces leading into a mini oasis of grassy courtyards surrounded by pools of water. The rooms are arranged throughout the central terrace of Casa Zicatela, surrounded by exposed concrete.
The interior of Casa Zicatela is accessed by folding wooden screens to give a sense of warmth, contrasting against the harsh concrete facade and when open, they allow the space to be flooded with large amounts of natural light and views of the coastal sky.
