Drinking and (not) Driving: The Classic Car Club at Pier76

Since 2005, the Classic Car Club Manhattan (CCC) in Soho has been attracting New York residents who enjoy the thrill of driving classic cars without the inconvenience of looking after them. The club’s recent relocation to Pier76 includes an upgraded form of membership and facility that includes a duplex member lounge, a bar, a restaurant, and a killer Hudson River terrace. The CCC’s newest Clubhouse Membership, priced at $180 a month, differs from the existing Driving Membership: At a lower cost, it is curated more towards those who like to admire classic cars from afar. However, don’t underestimate the scope of the new membership, which includes full access to all of the member facilities at Pier76 as well as the Club’s entire calendar of events, both local and abroad.

Designed by architect Marc Thorpe, the scheme of the Club at Pier76 captures the excitement and sophistication of classic automobiles. For the most part, the Club’s interior uses industrial elements reminiscent of auto garages, while dining and lounging areas are finished in a more vibrant scheme, recalling the racing days of the sixties with bright, retro colors. At the Classic Car Club, members are invited to either race, rally, dine, drink, road trip, kick back, or just live adventurously in the comfort of this intimate man-cave.
