The Chin Chin and GoGo can be found at the border of Sydney’s Surry Hills. Bright pink glows from its doors, keeping this warehouse vibrant and full of life for half a century. The Chin Chin, the sister of the Lucas Group’s modern Asian restaurant in Melbourne, makes up the lower levels of the building. The GoGo Bar can be found towards the left of the foyer, where George Livissianis has designed a den with various contrasting textures that allow for a slick vibe where suave meets charm. Modular rustic concrete-based block banquettes are complemented with sultry black velvet, while mirror and chrome shimmers can be seen through exposed wooden beams. Livissianis has created the walls in a way that express a very functional and simplistic look, while the dark marbled counters anchor down the weightlessness of the room. The spotlight lies on the platters: stir-fries, elaborate curries, and tender barbecue and rotisserie meats decorated with herbs and spices.
