New York based Architecture firm, ODA has re-designed the classic Bedford Hotel. Brooklyn's Crown Heights neighborhood is getting a unique and classic luxury 5-star hotel. Inspired the various courtyards that line the ancient streets of Italy, ODA Architecture have integrated the classic European design with Brooklyn's historical architectural influence to curate a 100 room hotel surrounding an exterior courtyard, separating the public and private in a fluid way. Elements of division and transition are at play within the arches, patio and floating garden landscape of the hotel. The exterior of the hotel is largely constructed of concrete infused with black dye, resembling a stone-like effect while the interior warmly welcomes guests with walls coated in whitewashed oak. The contrasting materials are intended to give guests a tangible change as they move from public to private, personal spaces. The project is currently underway and is expected to be erected within the next few years. Don't know about you, but HAROLD is already planning his stay.
