After 8 years of construction, Fondazione Prada’s OMA, is finally complete. The final piece of the puzzle, Ristorante Torre is located on the sixth floor of the profound contemporary art compound by OMA. Chef Fabio Cucchelli has sourced up recipes from a number of regions all over Italy to curate a new, unique menu for Torre. Sure enough, Torre has an added twist, for the next year there will be a rotating cast of under-30 chefs from home and abroad under Chef Cucchelli for two-week posts to shake up and curate a unique and youthful menu like no other.
The north wall of Torre is coated in large, floor-to-ceiling windows leading to a 125 sqm terrace frame with stunning views of the city. Visitors to Torre are warmly welcomed by Italian master Lucio Fontana's 1949 ceramic Cappa per caminetto (a fireplace hood) sits at the entrance amid Soviet armchairs and Eero Saarinen Tulip tables. The restaurants interior is designed in richly textured walnut panels to evoke a sense of intimacy and warmth while Jewels from Fondazione Prada’s legendary art collection, paintings and sculptures by Goshka Macuga, Jeff Koons and John Wesley line the walls of the restaurant.
